Julia is a published writer, performance poet, multi-disciplinary artist, and educator. She has toured her poetry nationally and internationally at conferences, in theatres, art galleries, restaurants, burlesque shows, poetry slams, high schools, senior living homes, writing festivals, on radio programs, and podcasts. She was a top 10 finalist at the Canadian Individual Poetry Slam (2017).
Franz the Poet
Franz (the poet) is a writer, performer, arts community advocate, workshop facilitator and yoga instructor. A Surrey girl, she can be found at Kwantlen Polytechnic University finishing her B.A. in Creative Writing, organizing and coaching Slamapalooza and creating space for BIPOC artists to thrive. Her mission is to use creativity to foster connection and to bring people together by doing the thing with the words. She’s happy that there is air in your lungs and you chose to witness these words. She hopes your dreams are still alive and well.
Kiran Shoker is a poet, artist, and educator located in Vancouver, Canada. Kiran seeks to empower, educate, and elucidate through her poetry and writing, as well as through her pedagogy. Much of her poetry focuses around themes of diaspora, love, culture, and womanhood. She has competed successfully in various Slam Poetry Competitions in Edmonton and Vancouver, is a poet and representative for the South Asian community in Calgary, and is always seeking new opportunities.
