Los Tambores is a world percussion group that presents a dynamic and interactive performance.
Since 2009, we have performed at festivals, street fairs, community centres, and have presented workshops at schools ranging from pre-school to University.
The members have studied with top performers and educators in the world music field, and teach and adjudicate in the Vancouver area.
We invite our audience to participate in the excitement, playing high-energy traditional music from Africa, Cuba, and Brazil.
The VOC Sweet Soul Gospel Choir are focused on an authentic sweet sound after more than 20 years as a community choir.
The choir was founded, and is led, by music director Checo Tohomaso, who strives to unite people of different cultures and beliefs and deliver a message of love, joy, peace, hope and healing through their common passion: singing.
We sing six-part harmony and our 130 members include men and women of all ages, ethnicities and religions. Delivering a high-energy, positive vibe, our dynamic choir mixes together the sounds of Soul, Gospel, R&B, Jazz, Hawaiian, Calypso, and Reggae.
Our animated delivery results in an audience that can’t resist joining in by toe tapping, foot stomping, jumping, singing, dancing and hand clapping!

Korean Traditional Arts Society (KTAS) is dedicated to promoting
the diverse forms and expressions of Korean traditional culture and arts in Canada.
To increase community awareness of Korean culture,
the KTAS develops educational activities, materials, and resources
that are presented through workshops and performances to a wide variety of audiences.
KTAS also aims to encourage and facilitate cultural exchanges and collaboration between Canada and Korea.

The Russian Showcase has been performing for a number of years on festivals. Victoria and Polina Kazantsevas are triple threats. They have been singing, dancing, and acting since a very young age. They are now 15 and 9 years old. Denis Petrov is a 17 year old very accomplished singer and violinist. He performs a lot in the Lower Mainland. Natalie Shalagina is 16 year old ballet and folk dancer. She has been performing since a very young age. The Russian Showcase is proud to perform and show their talent.
Julia Pillegi
Julia is a published writer, performance poet, multi-disciplinary artist, and educator. She has toured her poetry nationally and internationally at conferences, in theatres, art galleries, restaurants, burlesque shows, poetry slams, high schools, senior living homes, writing festivals, on radio programs, and podcasts. She was a top 10 finalist at the Canadian Individual Poetry Slam (2017).
Franz the Poet
Franz (the poet) is a writer, performer, arts community advocate, workshop facilitator and yoga instructor. A Surrey girl, she can be found at Kwantlen Polytechnic University finishing her B.A. in Creative Writing, organizing and coaching Slamapalooza and creating space for BIPOC artists to thrive. Her mission is to use creativity to foster connection and to bring people together by doing the thing with the words. She’s happy that there is air in your lungs and you chose to witness these words. She hopes your dreams are still alive and well.
Kiran Shoker
Kiran Shoker is a poet, artist, and educator located in Vancouver, Canada. Kiran seeks to empower, educate, and elucidate through her poetry and writing, as well as through her pedagogy. Much of her poetry focuses around themes of diaspora, love, culture, and womanhood. She has competed successfully in various Slam Poetry Competitions in Edmonton and Vancouver, is a poet and representative for the South Asian community in Calgary, and is always seeking new opportunities.
Universal Kids’ and Kids’ Knowledge Network’s Ginalina is a 2x JUNO nominated singer-songwriter. Upbeat folk for all ages, her songs are rooted in nature, kindness, and the awesome power of community.
